Fondo di Toscana® Sweet Roasted Calabrian Figs
Using an authentic ancient recipe from Calabria, Italy, our producer roasts the figs to develop the sweet, yet complex flavors of the fruit. The recipe uses approximately 18 whole ripe Dottato figs, which are prized for their rich flavor and lack of seeds. The figs are baked in all natural fig leaves, then hand wrapped and tied with decorative raffia ribbon.
To enjoy these sweet roasted figs simply cut open the ties and unwrap the figs. You can then eat the figs whole or cut them into pieces and serve on cheeseboards and charcuterie plates. This wonderfully balanced classic is sure to become a favorite at any gathering.
